Training for the new apprentice!

A curious ball of fur happened to be bouncing around the camp in the early hours of the morning.

It turned out to be Dawnpaw.

Overly excited at the prospect of her first training session!, she had been wayy to impatient to sleep and wanted to start it as soon as possible!

Only her mentor, Leopardshadow, was sleeping and she didn't want to wake him up if he was having an important, or exciting dream.

What to do, what to do... She skittered around the apprentice den for the 50th time, then made her mind up.

She tottered nervously over to the warriors den. Standing awkwardly beside it, she felt unsure about how to gain her mentor's attention without making any of the other cats angry.

In the end, Dawnpaw went with just poking her muzzle into the den, and calling, "Leopardshadow?" [/size]

Leopardshadow's amber eyes flew wide open, and he jumped a few tail-lengths into the air, surprised. The kit-sized warrior landed on his feet, his short gold and brown spotted fur puffed out. He accidentally let out a little hiss, and when he saw it was only his apprentice, Dawnpaw, his ears flattened in embarrassment and looked away, his amber eyes hurt and apologetic.

"Sorry, Dawnpaw," He mewed, his fur flattening, "Just... kinda scared me..."

"Mrrooow!"

Dawnpaw immediately backed away from the den, scared and confused when her mentor started hissing at her. What had she done?

Then a second later, her fur relaxed. Oh, it was just that?

"It's fine. Um... I was wondering..." Dawnpaw looked a little unsure. Would Leopardshadow agree, or get cross with her for waking him up just for this? "Could...we....maybe....start training...a little early? Uh, I couldn't sleep so, I thought maybe I should get all that extra energy off somehow..." She trailed off nervously.

What would he say?

"Uh, yeah, sure, Dawnpaw," Leopardshadow replied with a grimace. He hadn't meant to scare Dawnpaw...

Hope that doesn't happen again.

Dawnpaw shuddered a little at the grimace Leopardshadow made. That wasn't directed at her, was it?

Her mood instantly improved at the response. "Great!" She meowed excitedly. "What kind of training will we work on today?"
